Unite!

Well girls, I was talking to Karianne last week, and I think it is about time we met. Here are my thoughts. Let me know how many of you might be up for it.

I'm thinking we should plan a year in advance. That way, it is on the calendar and you can save for it (money-wise and vacation-wise).

I'm curious about your thoughts on January 2010 or February 2010. I would think that the prices on tickets should be low because travel would be low around that time of year. I don't mind spring or summer either, but I also don't want to compete with family vacation times and holidays. I would be curious if it is better for you gals with kids to meet before school starts or after. Please let me know your thoughts because I can be quite flexible. Those of you with kids have to do more arranging.

My other thought is location. Since we are spread all over the freakin' country (coast to coast), I know it would be best to meet somewhere in between. Joel and I have a HUGE 5 bedroom house that is filled with single mattresses. It will probably take a year before we will have everything in order, but it would be the perfect location because I could offer free lodging! Also DFW is an international airport; so the flight options are more vast.

Over the next year, we could be looking online with Orbits and Travelocity and Southwest for the best priced flights. And since I wouldn't be purchasing a ticket, I could handle breakfasts and a few meals. :)

The city of Fort Worth offers lots of fun things to do if we want to do more than huddle in the house and giggle our hearts out. There is the Stock Yards, Billy Bob's, and plenty of country music entertainment.

So what do you say? If we don't plan ahead, you know we will never do this. Now that I have an awesome house, I would love to invite you ladies to it! :)

Get back to me!!!! :)

I think that's a fantastic idea! I should be all settled in my career next year (although I don't know how long my MOS school will be, so no promises). Looking forward to it!

Be sure to leave thoughts on when to have it OR when NOT to have it! This is the time to speak up!!! :)

My darlings, I have no children, and I can make it work any time. Let me know! This is a fantastic idea!

YES. I'm in.
Presidents Day weekend would be a good one for me. BUt either month works well. I don't know my son's school schedule yet (he has a mid-winter week long break somewhere in Feb), but I'll know in the summer.

I will pretty much do anything to help make this happen. :)

Kell---love the idea of staying at your house--as long as it won't be too much of an imposition.

Not at all an imposition! It's a privilege! Joel and I both love having people over to our home. It is something we both share and fell in love with in each other. We talked it over, and he's game.

PLUS it will be so much more fun staying all together. If we had to deal with hotels and traveling to see each other in the same town, it will just add time when we could be together! :)

Oh, girlssssss! I wish I could!!!

The truth is:

A. I can't leave my kids that long. (I guess technically I could, but I can't make myself do it.)

B. Even if I could leave the kids, there's no way I could afford it at this point.

I am so, so sorry! There's nothing I'd like more than to meet each of you!

*hugs*

A meet-up... YEAH! I'm game!

As I told Kelly, I feel bad for agreeing to meet up and have a great old time when I've not been terribly active in the group. Sorry about that. In a feeble attempt to reconnect, I posted a catch-up. I hope most of you at least remember me.

Just keep me posted on the whowhatwhenwherewhyhow and I'll do my best to be there. I think it would be FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!

xo,

Karen Beth :)

FUN!

That's what I meant. :)

This does sound really fun!!!

Right now, Brian is laid off, and it looks like it will be that way until late into this year.

So at this point, it sounds more like a pipe dream to me.

But I will keep you posted. And what a great idea!!!!
