My mom always did Crosswords when I was growing up. She's amazing at them. That puzzle gene was passed on to me. I love them so much.

A few weeks ago when we went to Arkansas, there were several times mom and I were in the same overstuffed chair working a crossword together. I think Joel noticed.

I bought a new book, and Joel's started working them with me. It's so sexy! ;)

I think that I've found the secret to a happy family on the weekends. Staying busy.

Husband has joined my brother's softball team and our family is all the better for it. All weekend has revolved around some sort of sports and being outside. Actually enjoying the super warm weather. (did I just write that? can't be!) Watching the kids enjoying all that there is to offer.

I remember thinking this weekend how much having the kids has brought to my life. I was out and about, loving just being with them and being active. In my pre kid life I would have been out to coffee probably, heading to a bookstore, then home to read. Possibly trying to play piano.
Trying to stay in the vicinity of air conditioning. And, as I now see, missing out on the fun.

Thinking back to the Easter weekend, we have been running and enjoying every weekend since. And on each weekend I can remember either Chris or I saying, "what a nice weekend".

Letting Go

Sometimes, in the midst of not being happy, and having happiness be kind of far off, levels of unhappiness can feel actually feel like happiness.

Recently I have begun to let go of an issue that has been eating away at me. Although this issue is still causing unhappiness in my life, the sharing of the issue has brought happiness. Does any of that make sense?

Now if I could only let go of my desire for the perfect ephedrine diet pills, I might be ecstatic.

ear plugs for my sanity

don't laugh. But, there are times that the only way I can handle one more minute in a small house with 3 vocal children is to wear a pair of ear plugs. The cheapie ones that I cut down to fit into my ears. I can still hear everything that is going on, but the sound is so much more tolerable. So now that I'm thinking of it, ear plugs not only make me happy, but allow for my family to be happy as well, averting a mommy meltdown.

I should buy a pack for my office too!

sometimes I consider, first off, finishing my BS in education, and then continuing on for my MS Curriculum. Mind you this is only a vague consideration as I would need something very flexible and conducive to learning with 3 jobs and 3 kids. Plus something affordable. That would actually be amazing, but as I'm coming to learn, there are programs out there that would fit that even come from accredited colleges. At this time in my life, learning almost anything new makes me feel competent and alive. Who knows what the future will bring?
