A proposal...

Seems that there are so many great people contributing to this wonderful blog that Karianne set up. However, I don't think any of us have really gotten to know the others. I feel like I haven't anyway.

So, I'm proposing that we make introductions. Let us all post a brief introduction about ourselves, a link to our blogs and a short overview of what your blog is about and answers to the following questions.

Everyone in?

1. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

2. When you were little, what did you want to do "when you grew up?" Are you doing it?

3. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

4. What is your favorite color?

5. What do you love to do? What hobbies do you get caught up in?

6. What is your favorite movie?

7. What do you think your life purpose is?

8. What is the thing that brings you happiness on a DAILY basis?

9. What is your favorite book?

10. What is one thing you would like to try or do before you die?

Looking forward to "meeting" you all!

Well, I'll start! :) My name is Kelly, and I think I'm probably the only single childless one of the bunch! LOL!

1. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

I'm one fourth Italian; so it's been a dream of mine to go to Italy. Rome, Venice, Tuscany, Florence... I would love to see it all. Other than that, I love the beach. So any tropical location would be awesome.

2. When you were little, what did you want to do "when you grew up?" Are you doing it?
LOL! When I was 5, I said I wanted to be a welder and a ballerina. Thankfully I am not doing that! I'm a graphic designer, and I wanted to do that when I was a senior in high school. I never changed my mind or major.

3. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
My favorite store-bought ice cream is cinnamon! Peanut butter and chocolate is a VERY close second.

4. What is your favorite color?
This has always been a hard question to answer. I love to wear blues. I love to decorate in warm colors like golds, oranges, and reds. I think as a designer, my color tastes change with the seasons.

5. What do you love to do? What hobbies do you get caught up in?
Hmmm... I love board games and mind puzzles. I wish I could play them more. I need to start a weekly game night!

6. What is your favorite movie?
I always say It's a Wonderful Life because it is such a classic.

7. What do you think your life purpose is?
To glorify God.

8. What is the thing that brings you happiness on a DAILY basis?
Hmmm... I don't know. I wish I could say God, but I don't think that would be honest. My human nature and selfishness sometimes gets in the way of that. If I really think about what is important in life, then I would have to say the salvation I receive through Jesus Christ. :)

9. What is your favorite book?
Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver and Victory Over the Darkness by Neil Anderson

10. What is one thing you would like to try or do before you die?
Get married and have a family.

Karen Beth: What a great idea! I'll post something soon!

Kelly: Thanks for sharing your answers! I loved The Bean Trees both times I read it! Have you read any other Barbara Kingsolver books? (I think my favorite is Animal Dreams.) I love games and puzzles too! I occasionally post things on my blog - and I spend quite a bit of time at the online game Blokus. (Have you heard of it? It's available in board game form too.)

Incidentally, I too am childless and single. You aren't the only one!

1. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

I really have this burning desire to go to Morrocco. I saw this movie once, Hideous Kinky, and it cemented that desire.

2. When you were little, what did you want to do "when you grew up?" Are you doing it?

Well, when I was four I wanted to grow up and be an alligator, and I can honestly say I am not doing that! I'm becoming a social worker instead, so now that's what I want to be if I grow up.

3. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Haagen-Daazs Strawberry Shortcake.

4. What is your favorite color?

Pink. And then lots of fall colors, like rusty oranges, greens, and browns.

My big hobbies are reading, movie watching and knitting. I'm knitting my first sweater right now, so we'll see....

10. What is one thing you would like to try or do before you die?

1. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
If I could magically zap myself there, then Europe! But I'm afraid to fly, so realistically, California. But it would be a *really* long drive.

2. When you were little, what did you want to do "when you grew up?" Are you doing it?

SO many things! A laywer, a police office, a sprinter. Nope. Not doing any of it. Happy? Beyond happy.

I don't have one. How much do I suck? Seriously? TV shows, yes. Movies, no. They're too long for my attention span. *hiding under the chair*

7. What do you think your life purpose is?

To make a positive difference in the life of those around me that I am close enough to touch.

8. What is the thing that brings you happiness on a DAILY basis?

KrayonKel... I'm single and childless too, except for my cat who I treat and regard as my child. :)

Curious... what does cinnamon ice cream taste like? Sounds delicious; never had it.

Katya... I'd also LOVE to visit Morrocco. I think it would be such a lovely place to visit.

My favorite book, as I've told you already, is The Little Prince also. What a wonderful read!

PiesBonitos... What game show would you like to be in the audience of???

1. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

My bf is in Australia so of course I'd love to go there. If it weren't for him, the place I would most like to visit would be Aix-en-Provence and the lavender fields there. I hope to get to do that someday.

A teacher. I'm not doing it yet but am about to embark on getting a double Master's to do it.

Ben and Jerry's Half Baked but cinnamon sounds pretty good too!

4. What is your favorite color?

Chartreuse, deep red, gold and black.

To do good for other people and animals and to leave something good when I leave.

8. What is the thing that brings you happiness on a DAILY basis?

My cat.

9. What is your favorite book?

The Little Prince, Life Could Be Sweeter, Entre Nous, The Other Boleyn Girl, Happy Yoga, Being Peace, Rebecca (a LOT more than one!)

LOVE this idea KB...good thinking!

1. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? Ireland; every movie I've seen where ireland is featured makes the country look such a vibrant, technicolor kelley green that I'd love to see firsthand. Also, I have some Irish blood in me so there's a pull toward my heritage.

2. When you were little, what did you want to do "when you grew up?" Are you doing it? I don't remember really being drawn toward anything really strongly. My sister and I went through the teacher-stage, nurse-stage, and mommy-stage. I'm a teacher now and my sister is a nurse....we're both mommies...hmmmm

3. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream? I'm not a huge ice cream fan. My tried and true, always there for me flavor is french vanilla. I know, I know BORING.

4. What is your favorite color? Depends. Love earth tones....olives, browns, rich reds...my living room is those colors.

5. What do you love to do? What hobbies do you get caught up in? Knitting, sewing, thinking of the perfect gift for people.

6. What is your favorite movie? The most recent one I saw that really touched me was Crash. (not that it's all that recent, but I don't seem to watch that many movies now a days.)

7. What do you think your life purpose is? I have to agree with Kelly....To Glorify God

8. What is the thing that brings you happiness on a DAILY basis? My children and all their quirky fun-ness

9. What is your favorite book? Animal, Vegetable, Miracle and Eat, Pray, Love

10. What is one thing you would like to try or do before you die? I would love to write a children's book. I would love to be able to meet my grandchildren.

OK guys, mine is up over at PC. Here are my comments to you all:

KMK-Your answer to #8 is one of the reasons you are so great. Your honesty. While you are in Italy, learn some dishes, then share with the rest of us! Did you want to be the ballerina welder or the welder ballerina? Too cute. I so want to come to game night. We used to do that in my fam when I was in my 20s and it was hysterical! My brother J and cousin J were always teamed up as Viscious and Delicious. Cracks me up.

Katya-The more I get to know you, the more similarities I recognize. Kind of spooky, but fun. I'm so going to bite the title Hideous Kinky. Maybe a new blog? Great title! Have you seen the charlie and lola where lola wants to be an alligator? It's one of my faves.

Carrie- What a great idea about zapping to a place! I could totally travel then, because I would always come home to sleep in my own bed! I also CANNOT watch a full movie. If we go to the theatre, I have to get up to wash my hands 3 or 4 times because I can't sit still for that long. Love your quote, "beyond happy"

KB-bf? you sooo need to email me the deets. Um, a DOUBLE masters? Brave woman. And you are smart enough to do it too! I miss yoga! I pretend that whenever you do a double practice, I get the second one! And boy, do I need to send something out to you. I'm so behind!
Mel-Ivy adores "banilla" too! Knowing you is so cool because I couldn't make it through Crash or AVMineral, so you can brief me thru it. The toned down karianne version! I did enjoy E,P,Love though. Let's get together girlie! I have your bday present.
